Shahram Nazeri

One of my favorite songs. I remember about 6/7 years ago my late friend and spiritual teacher Ahmed Hussain introduced me to Shahram Nazeri's CD of Sufi Music and this was the first song I heard and fell in love with it. Every time the instruments are strummed, striked, etc. it sends a wave of vibrant energy through me. The lyrics are beautiful and it is sung with such passion and the instruments take it to another level. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, reader.

Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Al-Haqqani

May He give Mawlana all that he asks for and more, Ameen.
**this perfectly describes what my heart says but i never could put it into words. this describes me best.**

“Study me as much as you like, you will not know me, for I differ in a hundred ways from what you see me to be. Put yourself behind my eyes and see me as I see myself, for I have chosen to dwell in a place you cannot see.” - Rumi

“If in the darkness of ignorance, you don’t recognize a person’s true nature, look to see whom he has chosen for his leader.”

“Knock, And He'll open the door
Vanish, And He'll make you shine like the sun
Fall, And He'll raise you to the heavens
Become nothing, And He'll turn you into everything.”

“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”

“Ignore those that make you fearful and sad, that degrade you back towards disease and death.”

“A thousand half-loves must be forsaken to take one whole heart home.”

“Be grateful for whoever comes, because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.”

“Two there are who are never satisfied -- the lover of the world and the lover of knowledge.”

"There are lovers content with longing. I’m not one of them.”

“Love so needs to love
that it will endure almost anything, even abuse,
just to flicker for a moment. But the sky's mouth is kind,
its song will never hurt you, for I
sing those words.”'

“For without you, I swear, the town
Has become like a prison to me.
Distraction and the mountain
And the desert, all I desire.”

“You have forgotten the One
who doesn't care about ownership,
who doesn't try to turn a profit
from every human exchange.”

"When you plant lettuce, if it does not grow well, you
don't blame the lettuce. You look for reasons it is not
doing well. It may need fertilizer, or more water, or
less sun. You never blame the lettuce. Yet if we have
problems with our friends or family, we blame the other
person. But if we know how to take care of them, they will
grow well, like the lettuce. Blaming has no positive
effect at all, nor does trying to persuade using reason
and argument. That is my experience. No blame, no
reasoning, no argument, just understanding. If you
understand, and you show that you understand, you can
love, and the situation will change”

How sad is it that people lack compassion for the ones they "love"? That word is used too loosely in this day & age.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Here are some of my favorite quotes of his:

“When you say something really unkind, when you do something in retaliation your anger increases. You make the other person suffer, and he will try hard to say or to do something back to get relief from his suffering. That is how conflict escalates.”

“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.”

“If you suffer and make your loved ones suffer, there is nothing that can justify your desire.”

“People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air, but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black, curious eyes of a child -- our own two eyes. All is a miracle.”

“Waking up this morning, I smile. Twenty-four brand new hours are before me. I vow to live fully in each moment and to look at all beings with eyes of compassion.”

“Through my love for you, I want to express my love for the whole cosmos, the whole of humanity, and all beings. By living with you, I want to learn to love everyone and all species. If I succeed in loving you, I will be able to love everyone and all species on Earth... This is the real message of love.”

“People have a hard time letting go of their suffering. Out of a fear of the unknown, they prefer suffering that is familiar.”

"The source of love is deep in us and we can help others realize a lot of happiness. One word, one action, one thought can reduce another person’s suffering and bring that person joy.”
